Turkey's Erdoğan joins WWI Armistice Day centenary event

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın, on Sunday attended a ceremony held to mark the centenary of the end of World War I near Arc de Triomphe monument in French capital Paris.

Turkey's president on Sunday participated in a ceremony held to mark the centenary of the end of World War I near Arc de Triomphe monument in Paris.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron met their Turkish counterparts Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Emine Erdoğan at Elysee Palace.

Around 47 heads of states, 23 governments' heads and 15 international institutions' chairs walked towards Arc de Triomphe and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located at the base of the arc on the famous Champs-Elysees Avenue.

Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a brief chat following the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the world leaders and their spouses participated in the lunch hosted by Macron and his wife.

Erdoğan is accompanied by his wife, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın during his visit to Paris.
