German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian, called for international unity in the face of the possible killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

"We want to know what happened there," Maas said during a meeting with Le Drian in Paris.

"Once we know, we will draw our conclusions," said Maas, adding that he had spoken US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about the case on Monday, shortly before the top US diplomat departed for Saudi Arabia.
