Three PKK supporters have received sentences ranging from one to three years in jail for attacking two Franco-Turkish associations in 2016, in Valence and Montelimar, in southeastern France.
According to French daily Ouest-France, a Paris court Wednesday found the three men guilty of throwing Molotov cocktails at the building of the associations in two separate attacks in August 2016.
The criminal court considered these actions as "a terrorist act in affiliation to the PKK", an organization classified as terrorist by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
The court also ruled to register the names of the three PKK supporters, aged 23, 24 and 30, in the FIJAIT system: an automated court file used to flag the perpetrators of terrorist offenses.
The PYD/PKK terror group and far-left organizations have claimed responsibility for dozens of attacks across the EU since Jan. 20 to protest against Turkey's counterterrorism operation in northwestern Syria.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years and has been responsible for the death of nearly 40,000 people, including those of women and children.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK resumed its decades-old acts of terror in July 2015
