The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned a reported missile attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels on populated areas of Saudi capital Riyadh.
In a Tuesday statement, OIC Secretary-General Yousef bin Ahmed al-Othaimeen said the repeated launch of ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia served to confirm the Houthis' "hostility and criminality".
"The Houthis are trying to destabilize Saudi Arabia and the entire region," the statement read.
Earlier Tuesday, the Houthis announced they had fired a "ballistic missile" at the Saudi capital, according to the Houthi-run Al-Masira television channel.
The missile reportedly targeted Riyadh's Yamama Royal Palace, which houses the office of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
"The missile targeted a large meeting of Saudi regime officials that was being held at the palace," the broadcaster reported, adding that the missile had "found its target".
Saudi Arabia's official Al-Ekhbariya television channel, meanwhile, reported that the missile had been intercepted south of Riyadh before hitting its target.
It did not, however, provide any more details regarding the missile's intended target or the damaged inflicted.
If verified, it would be the second missile to be fired at Riyadh from Yemen within the last two months.
On Nov. 4, a Saudi-led international coalition announced it had successfully intercepted a Houthi missile fired at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport.
