22 people dead in Kabul Shia mosque suicide attack

At least 22 people were killed in a suicide attack at a Shia mosque in capital Kabul on Friday, according to a health ministry official.

Ministry of Public Health spokesman Mohammad Ismaeel Kawosi told Anadolu Agency several people were also wounded in the attack.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Najib Danish confirmed it was a suicide attack aimed at the Imam Zaman mosque in the capital's western Dasht-e-Archi neighborhood.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

On Aug. 25, a similar suicide attack at the same mosque claimed by pro-Daesh militants left up to 50 people dead.
