6 female tourists stabbed in Egyptian resort
Six female tourists were stabbed Friday on a resort beach in eastern Egypt, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
"Security authorities of the Red Sea directorate arrested a person who attacked a number of tourists with a knife on a beach of one of the hotels in the city of Hurghada," the ministry said.
"The incident resulted in the injury of six female tourists of different nationalities who were transferred to a hospital for treatment," the statement read.
According to preliminary reports, the assailant may have swum from a public beach and snuck into the resort beach.
