Turkey's state aid agency has provided supplies and equipment to help Costa Rica recover from damage caused by a hurricane late last year.
According to a statement from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency's (TIKA) Mexico office on Sunday, the northwestern city of Upala was provided with equipment to help repair property damage from the disaster.
In a ceremony, the material to build a bridge and equipment to strengthen the infrastructure was handed over to Upala officials.
Speaking at the ceremony, Upala Mayor Juan Acevedo Hurtado said that this help from the Turkish people in difficult times would never be forgotten.
TIKA's Mexico Coordinator Muhammed Unal said he was pleased to deliver the generous aid to the region.
After Nicaragua, Hurricane Otto hit Costa Rica last November, killing 10 people, damaging roads, and causing a power outage.
