Turkey has renovated a disabled center in Georgia's port city of Batumi and provided some equipment for the institution, a Turkish aid agency said on Sunday.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) said in a statement that Turkey renovated Batumi Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities and donated the center some furniture as well as equipment after a request from the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara government in Georgia.

The center provided service under the name of "Mahincauri Children House" until 2013. It was later transferred to the Society TANA by the local government.

Turkey's state aid agency also donated music and sports equipment, the statement said.

According to the statement, there are around 1,200 disabled people in and around Batumi.

The center aims to provide service to around 100 children, the statement added.
