Following the Iraqi government's seizure of important parts of Kirkuk, the United States has urged the sides to calm down tensions.
On Monday, State Department's Spokeswoman Heather Nauert called on all parties to avoid further clashes.
The United States President Donald Trump also spoke on Kirkuk, stating that Washington is not taking sides.
