UN report condemns sexual violence against Rohingya Muslims by Myanmar troops

Rohingya Muslim refugees in Cox's Bazar say they agree with a United Nations report that found sexual violence was carried out by Myanmar's security forces demonstrated intent to commit genocide.

In the report released thursday, the U.N. independent international fact-finding mission on Myanmar said the routine and systematic rape and gang rape by the country's soldiers against the Muslim Rohingya minority was so widespread and severe that it demonstrates intent to commit genocide as well as warrants prosecution for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
