Workers in the Belgrade zoo attempted to keep their animals cool on Monday as the temperature soared.Keepers cooled birds by spraying them with water, and fed others fresh vegetables and fruits.One employee said keeping the animals hydrated and cool was the best way to help them "overcome the heat". The spate of extreme weather which has sent temperatures to nearly 40 degrees Celsius on Monday and is expected to continue until Wednesday.
