Spain set to suspend Catalan autonomy

Spain is to start suspending Catalonian autonomy on Saturday, after its leader threatened to declare independence.

The prime minister's office said ministers would meet Saturday to activate article 155 of the constitution, allowing it to take over running of the region. The Spanish government maintains that madrid will restore the rule of law in Catalonia.
