Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi said that targeting the U.S. embassy was "painful and harmful".
"Yesterday, Katyusha rockets were fired at the American embassy. This deed is painful, harmful and incorrect. Who authorizes these entities to attack an embassy in Iraq? This degrades the state's reputation and offends Iraq. This is unacceptable, whatever the intentions are," PM Mahdi said in a statement.
