Turkey's ruling AK Party will name President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as a candidate for its leadership at an extraordinary congress on May 21st.
The AK Party will extend an invitation to president erdoğan to rejoin the party immediately after the supreme election board announces the final results of the referendum and they are published in the official gazette.
President Erdoğan said to Reuters that he would resume membership of the AK Party immediately after the final results are announced for the April 16 referendum. However, he said his position as party chairman would be decided by AK Party officials.
