Worshippers in Turkey flocked to mosques on the first day of Eid al–Fitr. The Muslim religious holiday marks the end of the month-long fasting period known as Ramadan. Traditionally, people kick off eid with dawn prayers in mosques, streets and other open areas fields. After prayers, people celebrate Eid al- Fitr.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting. The month lasts 29-30 days based on the visual sightings of the crescent moon.
