London's black taxis are going green

London's iconic black taxi cabs are going green.

In a bid to help reduce air pollution, a new version with a battery-powered, hybrid engine goes in to service.

New "TX" black cabs begin transporting fare-paying passengers in London.

Developed by the London Electric Vehicle Company (L.E.V.C.) , its battery-powered, hybrid engine can run for up to 129 kilometres on pure electric power.
