Natural gas used as compensation

Iran has cleared more than 40 percent of its fine to Turkey with natural gas supplies according to İran's Energy Committee Spokesman Asadullah Karahani on Wednesday.

Karahani notified Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh that İran paid off $800 million worth of natural gas, which accounts for the first installment of the whole $1.9 billion compensation fee.

He added that the remaning installments of the debt would also be paid with natural gas supplies.
