Turkey will restore a hospital which was damaged by terrorists in Syria's Ras Al-Ayn area cleared of terrorists during Ankara's anti-terror operation, according to a statement by Turkey's National Defense Ministry on Thursday.
Civilians, relieved from terror oppression, now return to daily life in Tal Abyad and Ras Al-Ayn after the region is cleared of terror group YPG/PKK.
In addition to Ras Al-Ayn Hospital, water and power plants will also become operational again after restoration work, said the ministry.
Turkey completed the necessary examination at the hospital, which was used and damaged by terrorists during the terror attacks, it added.
"The hospital is planned to be put into service in a short period of time," it said, adding that Turkish Armed Forces and relevant Turkish institutions are working in the area.
Turkey launched Operation Peace Spring on Oct. 9 to eliminate terrorist YPG/PKK elements east of the Euphrates River in order to secure Turkey's borders, aid in the safe return of Syrian refugees and ensure Syria's territorial integrity.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union -- has been responsible for deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. The YPG is its Syrian offshoot which the U.S. uses as its ally in Syria, a move Turkey strongly protests.
