Nearly 300,000 children have been safely delivered and over a million operations have been carried out on Syrian refugees, according to a Turkish Public Auditing Institute (KDK) report Monday.
The report assessed the healthcare provided to Syrians in its special report titled "Syrians in Turkey", and confirmed that over 31 million physical examinations were carried out on Syrian refugees.
In addition to operations and child deliveries, over three million vaccinations were also done, the report added.
The report said Syrian refugees were treated at refugee health centers, health centers linked to Health Ministry, healthcare practice and research hospitals of universities, private hospitals, and volunteer group healthcare centers.
There are at least 76 refugee healthcare centers linked to the Health Ministry, which includes 200 health departments.
Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011, when the Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests with unexpected ferocity. This led to a military conflict between the Syrian opposition groups and the Assad regime over the war-torn country's territory.
