Turkish security forces on Wednesday arrested a suspected Daesh member, for whose a red warrant was issued by Interpol, security sources said Wednesday.

The suspect was caught by the police during a road check in Turkey's northwestern Kocaeli province, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspect, identified by the initials S.S., was found to have a fake identity card in his possession.

Over 300 people have lost their lives in Daesh-claimed attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bomb, rocket and gun attacks.

Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart Daesh attacks.
