Anti-terror police on Wednesday arrested in central Kayseri province a foreign couple suspected of being members of Daesh terrorist organization, a police official said.

The man, identified by the initials A.A., is a dual citizen of Belgium and Algeria, while his wife M.A, is a Syrian national, the official said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions over talking to the media.

The couple, who had arrest warrants issued against them in Belgium for terrorism charges, were sent to court, the official added.

Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart Daesh attacks.

More than 300 people have lost their lives in Daesh-claimed attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bomb, rocket and gun attacks.
