Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party's spokesman on Thursday said the main opposition leader should not keep the parliament busy with his "lies".

On Tuesday, Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, in a speech to party lawmakers, presented documents that he alleged were evidence of his claims that relatives of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had stashed money abroad.

Erdoğan rejected the allegations and vowed to resign if they could be proved.

Speaking to reporters in Ankara, Mahir Ünal, the AK Party's spokesman and the party's deputy chairman, said Kılıçdaroğlu should give those documents to a court and prove the claims himself.

"Therefore, he must not keep busy the Turkish parliament with an issue like this."

"Other than the Turkish parliament, he should not engage Turkish political agenda with his lies, claims, and some unknown documents, which he even does not share with his own party members," Ünal stressed.
