A Turkish court on Tuesday remanded in custody two Iraqis for suspected links to the terrorist group Daesh, a police source said.

The suspects, part of a group of three, were arrested last Friday in the northern Black Sea province of Samsun.

According to the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, the suspects were alleged to be engaged in armed activities under the direction of Daesh.

After giving a statement to the prosecutors' office, one suspect was released under judicial control.

More than 300 people have lost their lives in brutal Daesh-claimed attacks in Turkey, includes suicide bombs, rocket, and gun attacks.

Turkish security forces have been involved in a long-running campaign to thwart Daesh attacks.
