The Turkish Air Force destroyed PKK terrorist camps in northern Iraq early Tuesday, the military said.

Air raids on camps in Metina, Zap, Avasin-Basyan and Gara led to the destruction of three caves and four bunkers, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement.

Three camp area were also destroyed in the attack, the statement added.

The air force has been conducting regular airstrikes on PKK facilities in both northern Iraq and Turkey since July 2015, when the terror group resumed its decades-old armed campaign.

Recently, it also targeted PKK/PYD positions in northern Syria.

The PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU, has been responsible for more than 1,200 deaths since July 2015.
