Galatasaray defeated Beşiktaş 2-0 Sunday evening at Türk Telekom Stadium in the Turkish Super League's 31st match week.
In front of some 50,000 fans, Galatasaray took advantage early on when Yuto Nagatomo's low driven cross found Fernando Reges inside the penalty area in the 22nd minute.
Beşiktaş's defender Dusko Tosic was sent off with a straight red card in the 65th minute.
Garry Rodrigues's powerful strike inside the penalty area in the 70th minute gave Galatasaray a 2-0 lead.
The victory kept Galatasaray in the lead as other title contenders Medipol Başakşehir and Fenerbahçe did not stumble, winning against their opponents with 4-1 scorelines.
Beşiktaş are now in fourth place, four points behind Galatasaray, with three weeks to go.
Galatasaray have 66 points, Başakşehir, 65 points and Fenerbahçe are third with 63 points.
