Felipe Massa will end his Formula One career for good after the season, the Brazilian driver and his Williams team said on Saturday.

Massa said in a video on Instagram that the races in his native Brazil on November 12 and the season-ender in Abu Dhabi on November 26 will be the last races in his F1 career spanning 15 years.

The 36-year-old originally retired last year but then agreed to spend another season at Williams after Valtteri Bottas moved on to Mercedes to replace retired world champion Nico Rosberg.

"I have now enjoyed four great years with the team, but my career in Formula One will finally come to an end this season," Massa said in the team statement.

Massa has competed in 267 grands prix to date, earning 11 race wins and 16 pole positions, racing for Sauber, Ferrari and Williams since 2002. He came close to the 2008 world title, losing out by one point against Lewis Hamilton.
