Roy Hodgson's first match as Crystal Palace manager ended in defeat on Saturday as his side lost 1-0 at home to Southampton.
Steven Davis scored the only goal of the game after just six minutes and Southampton held on to move up to fifth.
Palace remain bottom of the Premier League without a point from five games and have still not scored a league goal this season. Previous manager Frank de Boer was dismissed on Monday after only 77 days in charge.
Later Saturday, Manchester City can go top if they win at Watford.
