Turkish NGOs to send Eid meat to 25M people worldwide

Leading Turkish aid agencies will help 25 millions of underprivileged people in over 100 countries across the world during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, set to start on Aug. 21.

According to information obtained by Anadolu Agency correspondent, ahead of the Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) Muslim holiday, Turkish NGOs are set to help the needy in countries worldwide.

The Turkish Red Crescent, the largest humanitarian organization in Turkey, has distributed meat to millions for more than a decade, and this year is projected to provide aid to 3.8 million people in 40 countries, Kerem Kınık told Anadolu Agency.

In addition, the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV), the charity agency of the Religious Affairs Directorate, aims to deliver meat to some 10 million people across Turkey as well as in 145 countries. This year's theme of their Eid-al-Adha campaign is "Share your sacrificial animals, get closer to your brother".

The Istanbul-based Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) aims to distribute Eid meat to around 2.5 millions of people in 103 countries, namely those in refugee camps, war-torn and poor regions and those who are hit by natural disasters.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Deniz Feneri Association hopes to help 500,000 people in 40 countries.

The Yardimeli International Humanitarian Aid Agency will distribute meat to 700,000 in 35 countries.

The Sadakatasi Foundation are both making efforts to reach out to 350,000 people in 30 countries.

Additionally, the Cansuyu Charity and Solidarity Organization will also help 2 million people in 28 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, while the Umut Kervani Humanitarian Relief Foundation will be active in 30 countries.

The Insana Deger Veren Dernekler Federation is planning to distribute meat to 1.5 million people in 33 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Balkans. Meanwhile, the Besir Foundation is to reach out to 53,000 families and 160,000 people in need during Eid al-Adha.

The Turkish Mirasimiz (Our Heritage) organization, which is dedicated to preserving Ottoman architecture in Jerusalem, aims to reach out to 10,000 families in the city.

The Turkish Aziz Mahmud Hudayi Foundation will be active in a total of 45 countries and will distribute meat to around 2 million people in need.

The Iyilikder aid organization will also help 30,000 people while the Ihlas foundation will reach out to 10,000 people at home and abroad.
