120 years old hereke carpet being restored for the first time

A hereke carpet, found in the ceremony hall of Sale Pavilion at Yıldız Palace, is being restored for the first time after it was cleaned in Istanbul, Turkey on December 26, 2018. 120 years old Hereke carpet weighs approximately 3 tons, covering an area of 468 square meters. Restoration is expected to take two and half to 3 years before being placed back in its place at the ceremony hall.
