Eleven PKK terrorists were killed during separate anti-terrorist operations in southeastern Siirt and Hakkari provinces Sunday, according to the military.

In a statement, Turkish General Staff said airstrikes on Sunday killed at least seven terrorists who were planning to attack military bases in rural areas of Siirt's Eruh district.

Four PKK terrorists were also killed during a separate operation in Hakkari, according to military and regional governor's office.

Three terrorists who were planning to attack the military base in Cukurca district were killed by an airstrike Saturday, the army said in a statement.

One other terrorist was killed during an operation on Sunday in Alanduzu Nirik Deresi region, according to the Hakkari Governor's Office.

Also on Saturday, four terrorists fleeing the terror group's shelters in northern Iraq surrendered to security forces in Silopi district of Sirnak province, the army said on Sunday.

During the operations, several improvised explosives were also destroyed.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
