At least four people were killed and another five injured in a landmine blast near the Pakistan-Iran border on Saturday, local media reported.

The blast occured in the remote Panjgur district of the southwestern Balochistan province, local broadcaster Geo News reported quoting officials. All the deceased and injured were civilians.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast but outlawed Baloch separatist groups have recently been active in the region and involved in armed attacks on security forces.

The separatist groups have been fighting for the "liberation" of the mineral-rich province, which according to them, was forcibly incorporated into Pakistan in 1947 following the end of British colonial rule in united India.
