Hungary's ambassador in Ankara has described Turkey's security as Europe's security, urging the EU to support Turkey against terrorism without compromise.

In an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, Gabor Kiss said Hungary had always supported Turkey's accession to the EU.

Kiss said even if there were tensions between Turkey and the EU from time to time, dialogue should continue.

"In the region [the Middle East and Balkans] there are big crises and therefore, Turkey's security means Europe's security," Kiss stressed.

Kiss said Turkey had to consume all its energy in fighting terrorist organizations like the PKK, Daesh and the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), calling this situation a "tragedy".

"EU must support Turkey against terrorism. There cannot be a compromise on this," he said.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the EU and U.S. -- has killed more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians since July 2015.

The FETÖ terror group and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 2016, which left 250 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
