Four PKK terrorists were killed during a security operation in eastern Turkey late Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the military.

In a statement, Turkish General Staff said two terrorists were killed during an operation late Tuesday as they were planning to attack Turkish troops in Senyayla region of Mus.

Meanwhile, six more terrorists surrendered in Silopi district of southeastern Sirnak province, the statement said.

In a separate statement issued by Sirnak Governor's Office, two PKK terrorists were killed on Wednesday.

The gendarmerie had spotted the two slain terrorists loading explosives on a van near Anilmis stream at Cudi mountain, it said.

An explosives-laden van was also destroyed during the operation, it added.

More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
