The body of a man found on Wednesday in eastern Tunceli province was identified on Saturday as that of a teacher who had been kidnapped by PKK terrorists last month, according to a provincial governor's office.

In a statement, Tunceli Governor's Office said a forensic report received from Istanbul confirmed that the body found near Pulumur Creek belonged to Necmettin Yilmaz, who was kidnapped by PKK terrorists on June 16.

Last month, Yilmaz's car was shot at while he drove towards Gümüshane, Turkey's Black Sea province, from southeastern Şanlıurfa province. His burnt car was later found in Pülümür Valley.
