Wolfsburg twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at Bayer Leverkusen in the German football Bundesliga on Sunday.

The result leaves both sides in the lower half of the table, with Leverkusen 12th on nine points, and Wolfsburg 14th, a point behind.

It was the fourth successive draw for Wolfsburg since Martin Schmidt took over as coach.

Lars Bender put Leverkusen ahead in the 29th minute but Wolfsburg were level a minute before the break when Divock Origi rose high to head in a Paul Verhaegh cross.

Lucas Alario made it 2-1 for the home side in the 61st minute but the Wolves responded eight minutes later through Jakub Blaszczykowski.

In the day's later match, second-last Werder Bremen greet ninth-placed Borussia Moenchengladbach.
