Everton midfielder Ross Barkley said on Saturday that reports he had undergone a medical at Chelsea on transfer deadline day were incorrect.
But the England midfielder said he would be considering his future at the club in the January transfer window, when he was fully fit.
The 23-year-old Barkley is out of action after recent groin surgery.
"Contrary to a number of reports, I did not undertake a medical with the club (Chelsea) at any point," Barkley said on Twitter on Saturday.
"I simply decided that due to my injury it would be best to make a decision on my future and assess all my options in January when fully fit.
